I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a ÂŁ1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
